Shipshave is a start-up with a mission to develop tools to help the shipping industry reduce its environmental impact on the planet. Our first product is an autonomous robot that can clean the hull of a ship during transit, helping shipowners reduce their fuel consumption and limit the spread of invasive species across our oceans.
We are looking for a student who can join our R&D team within the electronics and software disciplines to help develop our next products. We are a small team, so being flexible to contribute and take initiative for a variety of tasks is something we value.
The candidate should have the following skills:
Required:
- In the process of completing/completed a degree within a technical discipline
- Confident and have demonstrated experience in programming using Python
- Understand and able to debug electronic circuits
- Know how to use electronics lab equipment.
- Electronics prototyping and assembly.
- Analytical, structured, thorough, self-driven, and proactive
- Excellent English skills
Desirable:
- Schematic design and PCB layout
- Programming languages: C, C#, C++, Javascript
- Experience developing and debugging firmware on microcontrollers
- GIT version control
- Machine Learning
- Camera Technology / Video processing / Machine Vision
